The finish on cast articles may be left shiny and glossy to achieve its own patina with wear. A polished finish brings out the warm glow J and the lustrous white sheen of platinum and silver. Other give other effects.Florentine (see below) is the most popular - although not the only one. Most finishes are usually achieved by engraving which lines or designs are incised into the metal. The common finishes are: Florentine. Parallel lines are engraved in one direction and -hatched by other parallel lines at a 90-degree angle, with one of lines being more lightly engraved than the other series.
